    Chicago screws for kydex

I just bought some .080 kydex to make a grip wrap. So .160 thick or 4.06 mm what Chicago screws will work for me? I'm not sure how they are measured.

I found 4.7mm and 3.1 mm on eBay but these are not as easy to find as I thought they would be.

I'm not sure which ones to get, I figure I'll need three but these are going to cost more than the kydex

A good industrial hardware store will have them. Mix and match.

That’s because they are not Chicago screws. They are binding posts.
Chicago screws have a reduced neck to cheat them closer to one side of a drilled hole.

My industrial hardware store stocks real Chicago screws. They are used to make belts and rigging. Any leather belt maker will have them.
