    Beretta 92fs Vertec conversion

Some time ago I started to work on my Beretta 92fs. Recently I became interested in the Vertec Profile and asked around to see if I can meet up with a forum member that has one, just to check it out.

Well, Piedrarc came through and let me shoot his Beretta Vertec. I was sold...

    So...

    This was pretty simple actually.

I am a little worried about trying on the M9A3 grip to check how the radius works out (I decided to get one of those to serve as a radius checker)

Haven't sanded it yet either. This is just file work.

Just tried on the M9A3 grip to check the radius. Grip went on a little tight... but I haven't sanded the rear of the frame yet so I assume it will be a little more spot on.

You can certainly do a lot with that rear of the frame. I am sure there is enough meat there to simulate a higher palm swell as well by reducing the bottom of the bump. Bottom line is its doable with a file.

The entire time I was looking at it while sanding (a whole 5 min) I couldn't help but think that they (Beretta) could have machined a couple of rails on the sides of the rear strap to allow for changeable rear straps where the palm swell could be placed high, mid or low.

I just sanded it down... and copying the video files... will edit together and post tonight... also will take the bottom "droop" of the beavertail off.

You can see the "droop", right?

Very well done! Are you planning to do any work to the front strap? I badly want a Vertec and I don't think I have the stones to do this myself. Want to do more?

That is some skill you got there...!!!!!!! Can you design your own checkering and deepen the groove under the bevertail? If you can the would be even more awesome!!!

I checkered the front strap on this one before. Will checker the rear strap as well. Still need to decide if I want to modify the WC grips to Vertec Profile or just order Vertec grips.

If you wanted me to change something on your frame I would have to PPT the gun from you. I don't have an 01ffl.

Checkering is no problem. I will do that next. Probably tomorrow. Can't bring the curvature of the beavertail undercut any higher - the frame is relieved inside for the strut.

Now you gotta find a Vertec upper! Stainless barrel/removable front sight.

BUSA had some slides on sale a few months ago.
