    Changing stock?

newbee question here. I wanna change the stock on my lower. What tool would I need? Also, how would I know whether I have a milspec or commercial tube? And to change up, all I would really need is the stock (no need for the a new tube, srpring etc) ?

any further help would be great, especially the tools I would need.

    thanks

You don't need any tools at all to just change the stock is it's a retractable stock. You just need to pull down the stock adjustment extra far, and the stock will slide off the tube. Measure your buffer tube with a caliper. The milspec tube will be 1.14" and the commercial 1.17". Get the appropriate stock. If your stock is an A2 type stock, the you need more tools, flat head screwdriver, and car wrench. pin punch and a hammer can be used in a pinch. Do a google search for A2 stock removal. If you switch from A2 to adjustable stock, then you need a new buffer tube kit.
