    Glock 17 takedown issue

the last 2 times I've sat down to take my Glock 17 apart the slide has gotten stuck. I have found a way to take it apart by removing the firing pin. I have changed the slide release with an extended version, I have been able to take down previously with that part duo I'm don't think that's the issue. What am I doing to get it stuck? And should I not shoot it until know?

You have to pull the trigger and remove the mag before removing the slide. That is all. Forget either one of those steps and you will have issues.

My guess is you didn't pull the trigger.

MAKE SURE THE CHAMBER IS CLEAR BEFORE YOU START. EVERY TIME.

Taken apart duo many times. I know the mag and trigger pull. I have figured it's the spring issue but for the life of me i can't tell how I'm putting it together wrong. Until I figure that out is it unsafe to shoot? I'm sure I've shot it with the spring in the wrong location, but trying to figure what damage I'm doing to it if any.

Okay learned my problem. I've been putting it together correctly and the proper breakdown method. Learned I've been heavy handed and pulling the slide too far back when try to release it. I was pulling so far back it was re-engaging the trigger and jamming it. Think I surprised the girl at Iron Sights by letting a girl teach me about by gun.
