Might want to check a few other things before this step. Start with the simple stuff first.

Have you checked it with a go guage/ no go guage? Is the bolt and barrel extention fit properly? Has the chamber been cleaned or polished? Look at the brass and what does it tell you?

A reamer is $115 plus shipping. You built the upper pull the barrel and closely inspect the chamber, figure out the cause, then fix it. If your brass is coming out scratched you most likely have a burr. De burr and move on.

But a reamer is not the first choice nor in the top five solutions to your problem

There is no way to fix a problem that has not been fully diagnosed just yet.
                  Will know more tomorrow.
Make sure he brings the bolt with the barrel.

You didn't even bother to read nor comprehend my last post.
Any other way to fix that you can think of would be helpful.
                    fixed that for your.

                    re read this section
pull the barrel and closely inspect the chamber, figure out the cause, then fix it.

This is pretty close to what Randall is going to do. Not trying to take business away from him. but you did say you assembled the upper. that mean you can pull the barrel and inspect.

The very last thing you want to do is shove a reamer in there and have a go at it without knowing that that will fix it. not to mention if not done with the utmost in care you run a very high risk of ruining your barrel.

                    Let Randall figure it out

You can ruin a barrel by hand reaming. And they don’t have to be redneck to ruin it either. I’ve seen very educated people have a hard time with screwdrivers let alone a form reamer
