        Thanks for the info.

I just looked around a little bit and both Midway and Brownells have a $10 off $100 deal (Brownells also has free shipping), so I think I may pre-order this one.

Has anyone found a better deal anywhere?

I just ran across this as I was doing some research online for my pf940 builds I ordered them back in April when they were on sale for $70 each and I just got around to ordering the parts to complete them. I just read the old 9 page topic that dealt with all the issues regarding these frames and watched the videos from that guy who installed the rear slide rail from the compact version that you posted the link to on youtube (thanks). So is the only way to get that rail drop in section by buying a compact, or is anybody making them or have the ability to make them? I know the V2 is coming out soon but I have 3 of these that I got for a deal, so i'm hoping that I can still use these successfully?
any help or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried contacting Polymer 80 and asking them if they'll sell you a few "rear rail modules"? (They probably won't but you never know).

IIRC, the guy who uploaded the youtube video you mentioned said something about trying to get rear rails manufactured somewhere; (maybe it was the company he worked for).

But now that Polymer 80 will soon be shipping the new PF940V2 frames, there is probably no motivation for any third party to try to manufacture the rear rail piece to be used in the earlier versions of the frame - especially given the difficult task of installing it.

It might not be worth the trouble of worrying about it; that is, the frame might last for thousands of rounds even with plastic rear rails. I've only heard of one failure (after about 1200 rounds or something like that), and maybe that was a rare case.

The thing about the earlier versions is that they they had a few other issues; e.g., the need to shim the trigger housing assembly, and the sometimes difficult task of getting the plastic rear rails cut properly.

Your probably right on all your points, but still it would be nice to know I could get them if the rear plastic rails failed. Also from what all the comments on youtube were saying, it sounded like many tried to order just the rear rails and they wouldn't sell it without buying a complete compact frame. Otherwise they would send you a free one if you had a compact frame and had a failure. but otherwise they wouldn't do it.

I'm wondering, has anyone received their PF940V2 yet? Maybe the early Sept. time frame was a little too optimistic?

                      "some time this fall"
Not surprised though, the spectre frame was late and so was the pf940C

IIRC they originally said the frames would be shipping early to mid September. Once it goes significantly beyond that they should give a 10% discount, or something like that, on pre-orders at least IMO.

Most vendors got their shipping notifications for the black textured frames yesterday

I know 2 websites that supposedly have the some in black.
Just wait I guess I know I will.
