EGW guns will often help with custom fabrication needs...you might call them, they're really easy to work with. hopefully they can help. .243 sounds really big...any chance you might also consider building up the lower lugs (TIG welding perhaps).

i read on another website that Mr. Paul Liebenberg (pistol dynamics) makes custom sized slide locks.

Biggest I have ever seen is about .203... Why on earth would you need one that big? If the hole in the frame is that big, you have a problem...

I thought about doing that as well. Thanks for your reply.

Nobody makes one that big. There is no reason to drill one out that big.

I agree. But it's already been done before I got it.

My vote would be to sleeve it. I don't see how (even if you managed to find a slide stop pin that thick) the bottom lug, link, barrel and frame would work around it.

The way I see it you have two choices:

                        A) Sleeve the slide stop holes via press fit...

                        B) Weld the holes up and grind/sand holes flat and re-drill and ream...

Option a seems the best and least labor Intensive though...

                        Good luck.

                          Pictures? This sounds interesting.

You can bush the slide stop pin hole also I guess, if you wanted to return it to "normal" around .199-.200.

I would weld it... as MV said, you're just going to run in to all sorts of issues with lugs and barrel link

I would make a sleeve that goes all the way across the frame, then solder it in place.
Then I would ream the sleeve to final size after soldering and then finally machine away the part that crosses through the middle of the frame and the parts that stick out on the outside of the frame.
This would ensure perfect alignment and allow the size to be chosen to match up with the desired slide stop.
