take down pin not going through upper. fixed

    Blackthorne upper.

I have a 1/4 drill bit in the pics.

Pics show where the drill bit stops.
(Note the grind mark on the rail...it came like that new.)

I'm thinking of using the 1/4 drill bit to cut through with oil at a slow speed or by hand. Good plan?
Suggestions? I have a drill and dremel. No drill press.

p.s. I'm not returning it. I like it and it's supposed to be a budget build.

Dude, at least try to sand down the takedown/pivot pin first. It looks close by the photo's. This way you will need no refinishing. Even tight the pin will eventually loosen.

          Done!

I used the 1/4 drill bit turned as much as I could by hand. Then used my power drill on the lowest speed. Followed by a steel wire dremel to polish things out. Fitted it back and forth about six times. The rear pin hole was the most work.

I believe they're made a sliver smaller for match grade fitting.
It's supposed to have the gap in between receivers.

Made sure my lower was in spec.

          Nice take down pin tool.

          THE END.
