Are you talking about grip safety requiring less blending? Or which radius to get?

Well TM is definitely a frame with enough material for .250.

As far as which will blend best with less work, I don't know. Never built one of those up.

That is as far as that one went. It was too messed up to finish. The disco hole was in a wrong spot. The Ejector pin hole was going through it. That frame got chopped to pieces.

mtenenhaus, you sure you want to try a TM frame?

having a lot of second thoughts right now....actually had a lot of doubt to start, there was a lot asymmetry to the frame and i spent a good couple of days rectifying some of them. it kills be to waste all that money.

that said, it doesn't sound like it would be worth putting hundreds of dollars worth of quality parts into it

probably best to relegate the frame for checkering and modification practice

as always, i really appreciate everyone's input

Good call. I know at least VaderSpade has made some work and does not seem to have trouble with them, but he also has the machinery to help in correcting a lot of stuff.

What do you have planned for next one? Regardless, be sure to mark and serialize all frames as soon as possible.

Still torn, this was going to be a compensated .45, just for giggles.

not really sure if i'll try that agin with my remaining frame.....i have fallen out of love with bobtail commanders. they're pretty but I shoot the gov't straight frame so much better.

i had purchased the frames a long time ago, had them serialized up in Fallbrook by Charlie, he did a great job. should have stuck with 1911builders or VytamenC

got to learn to TIG. that could be a game changer.

Now that i think about it.....i'm going to go back and try to improve, modify an older build. I've got to look at it critically.

                      pklin1297 and MV...thank you

I have had good luck with TM frames. A couple small cosmetic issues in the grip safety area but I'm not anal about such things. I build shooters.

That said TM is working on some new mil-spec 1911 frames. I'm sure they are taking all the past issues into consideration with these new frames.

                          i really hope so.

i want to have a pistol that shoots but i also enjoy the art of the project

Its disheartening, having spent a lot of hard earned money on the frame, lots of hours and of course the a myriad of parts that one fits.... till you realize that the frame is just too out of sorts to complete.

Good to know, and good for them.
I always said it was kind of sad that they let others get around them in both quality and choice.

Have they posted any plans? As in only one frame? or more?

You can follow their beta test on their Facebook page. They found a couple of small issues (which is why you test) and say they have fixed them. I'm not sure when they plan on releasing them?
