I needed to replace a part, they were so awesome, sent the part..... must have been overnight..... no fee, nothing. Absolutely amazing customer service. I'm so grateful.

I had a problem with a kit. They didn't help me fix it. They did try! 2 emails a day. Great service.

One of their jigs was "out of spec" in a sense, it was their 1911 long dust cover decking jig, David got back to me pretty quickly. He said he'll fix the jig for me, looking forward to getting it shipping out tomorrow lol.

The decking jig (several iterations of it, in short and long versions) always seemed to have problems from several reports. I guess I got lucky with the one I got when it was first released so didn't have any issues. Hope they fix the problem with this new one because I'm planning to get one soon. What was out of spec?

Out of countless dealings with Matrix, the only thing I can really complain about is that they took too much of my money... Yes I did "tell them" to take it, but they could've cut me off, like bars would do when they see an alcoholic...

Apparently, the first batch of the 1911 long dust cover decking jig had too thick of side walls to fit the frame inside (I bought one the day after it released), according to David. He had me send the jig back to him, which I did today. It was about a few thousandths too thick on the side walls of the jig.

It seems that the new ones that are in black paint may be more in spec, then again, it could vary between frames too. I tried it with the 1911 builders Long dust cover frame.

Gotcha, this would be an easier problem to solve than some of the problems MosinVirus found before, where the finished deck height was still too high, or left too short (can't remember)... Probably the latter since it is more of a problem to add material back on. And I believe I read another post where another builder found that the deck height was uneven after decking. Regardless of the problem, David always stood behind his product and fixed the problems to the best of his ability...

On several occasions I, and other people have asked him to make one-off jigs/tools, and I really appreciated his willingness to help out (as long as it made sense financially, and if there is a marketability). His version of the slide rail measuring tool (like ones sold by Everglades) is an example. Not sure how true it was, but he told me I was the first person to ask him for the long dust cover decking jig, which he turned out pretty fast even before I was able to provide him a frame to measure.

Matrix is great! The Sig 80% project is coming to a close... I wonder what project they are planning next?!
