    Fitting aftermarket Glock barrel?

Folks, what can I do about the aftermarket barrel that is way too tight? I can't rack the slide without pushing the barrel hood down with my thumb, and it slows down when it returns to battery. Should I sand it down where it rubs against the slide? Is it a common problem?

Mic the old barrel make sure the new one has all the same dimensions. My lone wolf barrel was hard to pull back. The front of that barrel block you have in the picture was .010 to tall I rounded the front edge and polished it. It works fine.

          Send it back!

If it does not drop right in. Then it will not work.

Have you used any other barrels with the slide? Check to see if both the barrel and slide are in spec

The bottom lug is what you fit. Not the top.
Well, what I mean is it depends on the barrel and usually the manufacturer will state where the barrel may be oversize.

But it is usually the hood length, the bottom lug, and sometimes the chambers are too short. Never the top lug.

                Don't fit the TOP.
You do the fitting on the underside.
There are different pads on the bottom that effect how far up/out of the frame the barrel is.

It's uncommon to see the barrel be tight on the yellow areas, but those are probably your issue.
Red is where the barrel normally locks.
Green is the camming shoulder that GETS it to lockup.
Blue is what unlocks the barrel.
Yellow should be clearances for while the slide is cycling.

If the barrel is tight going INTO the slide while the slide is off the frame, you fit the TOP FRONT face until the barel will drop into the slide.
Ideally, you would only have about 0.001" of clearance there.

Glock chambers are often cut to proper depth on "gunsmith fit" glock barrels because you can cut the FRONT of the hood back to get the hood to fit into the slide.
