    Sig P226 Problem

    Sig P226 in .357 Sig.

Not firing double action. If I decock, the pistol will not fire. (Click, no bang.) I can cock the hammer and it works fine. No misfires or failures in single action mode.

No indication of light primer strike or other symptoms.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Did you take off the Right side grip and see what's not making contact or slipping by. Pretty much all parts are visible there.

Take it back apart. Then reassemble it the proper way.

What precipitated this, did it happen all by itself with no changes or disassembly by you? Does the hammer come back when you pull the trigger in DA?

Check your trigger bar spring. Make sure it is installed correctly. If you have a new style spring be sure you are not using old school 80's grips unless you relieved them for clearance.

I've seen Sigs stop working in DA after someone has tinkered with it...aka "trigger job", as they remove material from teh trigger bar, so it slips off too soon- before the hammer has been retracted sufficiently.
Meanwhile, the SA sear surface remains unaffected.

I will concur with Skyhawk. Improper install or jeopardized trigger bar movement will prevent the firing in DA mode.

Additionally, if you removed the hammer strut assembly, you may have not seated it correctly.
