Weak mag latch on Howa 1500

Hi!
Does anyone know how to fix a weak magazine latch on a Howa 1500 in .308? It's a sweet shooter. But almost every time I fire it, the magazine drops out. Fairly sure the mag latch spring is weak and it is unlatching under recoil. I've tried taping the mag to make it thicker, but I only lasts a couple reloads before dropping out again. This is for both the 5 and 10 rounders.

With the mag inserted, look at the mag catch to make sure it's seated all the way against the mag. If Not, your mag might be hitting somewhere and keeping the mag from fully seating.
Also try when you put the mag in, rock the mag front to back pushing in at the same time. Both mine work this way. I like a tight mag, so I leave it this way.
