Advice needed on cleaning 1911 80%er

I just finished cutting barrel seat and rails, with final fit using lapping compound. I have scrubbed with wd40 to remove most of the lapping compound and metal shavings. My question is can I boil the aluminum and steel frames in water to get all the miniscule bits of shavings and lapping compound out, then finish up with brake cleaner and then spray with duracoat?

Think you can just use Acetone and then let air dry before the Duracoat.

Brake cleaner and pressurized air will get it clean.
You should be sandblasting it before painting it so you must have an air compressor there somewhere.

Sear nose is too long or the spacing between hammer and sear pin holes on the frame is wrong or the deck is too tall, causing the slide not to be able to press the hammer down enough to catch on the sear.
Since you can't easily move the holes in the frame and you already cut the frame rails so you can't lower the deck to the proper deck height, this only leaves you with adjusting the sear length.

Check your deck height before you really commit to finishing this frame because if the deck height is too high, you are going to have lots of fun getting a barrel to fit and lockup properly.
If the deck is high, get another frame and start over from the beginning, which is confirming/correcting deck height.

            Ditto what Randall said...

Although the Stealth Arms' frames, like most aluminum frames, do not require the decking operation, it is still a necessity to check deck height against print prior to cutting the rails, and remove material as needed if it is too high. The Stealth Arms' frame and another aluminum frame from another vendor I got both checked out fine in terms of deck height and I was careful while drilling the holes. My guess is that the sear nose is long... Sarco kits are not known for close tolerances... If you have a TrueRadius sear jig from Harrison Design you could check the sear against that, and stone it to fit.

I used gun scrubber spray and compressed air for cleaning.
