Some new offerings from Vytamenc Tactical

For the 80% 1911 frame market...

Not on their site yet but according to their Facebook it'll be up soon. I've found their products to be on par, or better than 1911builders, and for the most part Vytamenc is cheaper, with better customer service.

From what I've seen, both Vytamenc and 1911builders' new frames suffer from the problem where the bottom of the thumb safety pin hole is either touching, or way too close to the edge of the frame. So a little blending of the beavertail grip safety and you'll undercut that hole and expose a gap.

Still, it took too many years but at least someone is offering a long dust cover (non-railed) frame for the 1911...

In your experience, is there any particular beavertail grip safety that seems to work best given the low set thumb safety hole location? i'd hate to make an expensive mistake.

I don't think the hole is set low. I think the frame undercut is made too high.

Also, one thing to keep in mind about these frames...

If they need to be decked, and you are planning to use the decking jig from Matrix, they will probably not fit into the jig due to the length of the frame.

And hey, did anyone notice the missing grip screw holes?

And it seems a little backwards to have the square trigger guard with no rail on the frame, and round trigger guard with a rail.

Well, I assume by the time they show up on their site all of these may already be addressed.

Nah those are just really thin grips.
