    Any 22/45 experts out there?

I have an MKIII hunter model that i upgraded to a volquartsen frame. The problem is after mating the 'top' to the volquartsen frame, it won't rack properly. I can only pull the bolt back half way before it hits what i'm assuming is the hammer which is stuck in the 'up' position.

The problem is I can pull the mainspring housing out the well it's seated ibut cannot fully extract it from the backstrap. It's stuck tight and i've tried wedging a flathead screw driver between the backstrap and the housing to force it out but i don't want to damage the pistol and realize if i'm forcing things something is wrong.

Any ideas? anyone know a smith on the peninsula i can take this to for a looksy?

Sounds like the normal incorrect assembly. The only thing holding the pin in is the recoil spring. Tap the top of the pin to drop it down.

That's what i though however I've been wailing on top of the pin for a bit with a rubber mallet and it's not really budging. When i pull the bolt back to where it stops, i can see in the space between the bolt grip and the pin that goes through the top and there doesn't appear that anything blocking it but i can't see what's in front of it - i am thinking that little 'finger' pin that sits in the groove in the housing well must somehow be seated incorrectly and is blocking it.

Try it again but after tilting the barrel up to get the strut in the housing tilt the entire thing to the right.... ejection port facing down, then close the msh.
        It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

          Man what a PITA:

so i've been one by one going through the Dr. Bullseye troubleshooting chart:

I've gotten the bolt to finally cycle properly (removed new scope mount and optics), confirmed screw length not dragging on bolt, etc. Still can't get the hammer to drop properly even after adjusting the over travel screw and can't get the MSH latch to extract more than about 1/3 the way through. Yes, there's a troubleshooting advice for that on the page referenced above but i'm a little stuck and it's not 3:35am. ughh...

          Try again tomorrow
