    M76 parts build

I was thinking with all the issues of buying an m76 out of state I figured it probably be easier to have built here from a parts kit.

    I know nothing about Gunsmithing.
Any guess what a gunsmith would charge for the build?

Unless you have a complete receiver that was DROSed to you and you are looking for a gunsmith to assemble the full weapon for you, you are out of luck. If you are looking for someone to "make" a receiver for you and build a complete weapon you would need to find a FFL licensed to manufacture a gun and they would have to comply with the current CA laws about "assault weapons". So either way I think you are out of luck.

Have you priced complete parts kit? For a few hundred more you can buy a built one and have it californicated.

      Here is an 80% preorder
Tortort Milled AK Receivers in the USA. We offer milled receivers for the Galil, Russian Fixed, Russian Underfolder, Yugo, Yugo M76 and Yugo Underfolder

Not sure where you're located but there is one in SoCal. You just need to convince the seller to remove the integral FSB/FH or figure a way to californicate in a way that satisfies current regs. Oh yeah. And have an FFL willing to receive it californicated.

        For example:http://www.gunbroker.com/item/619897365

If I ffl a receiver and have it built, I won't have to molest the barrel

They can not assemble it as is and be legal in CA. It would have to be built featureless so no pistol grip, no flash suppressor, and what ever else is needed to comply with CA current law. If you had it done prior to the first of the year you could have just had a bullet button installed, but that ended Jan 1st. Also you would have to check and make sure it is legal for a regular FFL/gunsmith to assemble the weapon without a manufacturing license (I am not sure of that). You would also have to provide or purchase from them a pre-manufactured DROSed receiver (which you may not be able to do since Jan 1st) to put the parts kit on.

I think the first thing you should do is go to your local gun shop and see if they have a gunsmith. Then ask them if they can do what you are asking.

There is no barrel in posted auction to molest. You would have to buy a new barrel.

Again, if built in California, it will have to comply with news laws.
