338-06 Question???

If I understand it correctly, all you need is a 30-06 and a 338-06 barrel. Do a basic barrel change, no need to do bolt work or change out the magazine. Any input would be of great help...Thanks...

There's nothing basic about a barrel change except on a savage.

Tell us on what action and we can offer more accurate advice, but you are pretty much correct. it is a barrel swap for the most part.

Weatherby or Weatherby Vanguard?, As the threads are not the same and be advised threads on barrels are all different. very few interchange and even then breach face shape is not the same .

Did not think of that and barrels are MarkV, so Savage is it. After a weekend of research thinking of a E. R. Shaw barrel at 23" and laminate stock from Boyd's on a Savage 10 platform.
