Broken AK muzzle plunger. How to replace?

Recently I brought home a WASR-10 and broke the plunger pin at the tail while swapping out muzzle devices. I talked to Century but I'm not even sure I want to ship her out of state for warranty repair with the end of the year coming up fast. To perform the replacement myself, I guess the most difficult task is driving one front sight pin out. I've used some WD-40 but pin is not budging at all.

Anyone have tips on how I can perform this task? I already ordered parts (including replacement front sight pin) and I have a standard set of pins and vice. I've heard of people fashioning barrel blocks out of wood. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

You will need to drift out a front sight pin. Then the rest of the plunger will come out then put in the new one and ta the retaining pin back in

      More force.
I use an air rivet gun with punches I modify as needed.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
      Most work performed while-you-wait.

I heard some say the hole needs to be redrilled for a larger pin. Will that be necessary?

Aside from a homemade barrel block, what else do you recommend me to get (that I can find from home depot)

How are you trying to drive out the front pin? Should just need a punch and tap it out. No need to redrill unless you butcher something. I used my armors block to support the barrel/front sight when I did the same thing on my VEPR when the pin need to be freed up.

Guys, I'm having a hell of a time trying to punch out the front front sight pin.
I soaked the entire front sight assembly in liquid wrench overnight, and use a punch with 3 lb dead blow hammer and the pin is still not moving at all.

Is there something else I still need to do? Does anyone in the bay area have press and be willing to help?

Ok, I carefully drilled the old pin clean through, thinking hollowing it out will relieve enough pressure to punch it out.
The old pin is still stuck!

Does cguir weld/glue the pins on the wasr?

If you cut the whole thing off you can start with an ak 100 front sight and use 24mm 74 style break.

How'd you break the pin in the first place? Were you trying to turn the muzzle nut without depressing the muzzle pin first and that's what snapped it? If so could it be tweaked in there?
Does the muzzle pin still depress? Did you press in the muzzle pin before you started smacking on the front sight pin? If not, could they be smashed together in there?
But I don't come 'round here to meet nice people anyway

that's a good idea, what kind of punches do you use? Probably not the cheap ones. Did you modify a rivet tool/attachment to hold your punches?

I use air riveter rivet knock-out punches.
