AK47 Lantac Dragon brake installation question

I just tried installation a Lantac dragon brake on an AK47. The ports are off to the right after tighten twisting the muzzle all the way down.

The picture below shows the issue and in haven't tighten it yet. Any idea on how to fix this? My only idea is to put another washer inside and tighten it.

Back it off to where its aligned. Mark the brake where the retaining pin touches. Dremel or file a groove for the pin. Check your old brake for depth.

So from what I'm understanding, I would need to Dremel a grove on the muzzle break for the pin to hold?

If it were meant to be installed like that, I'm sure Lantac would have done that themselves, rather than have us do it.

      No other way?

Lots of info on google. New brake should have come with a crush washer.

Forget the indexing pin, crush the washer down to get proper alignment. Plenty of vids on YT, but in short: vice it up, twist in 1/4 increments until its very snug, back off, then twist again. Keep going until it's timed right.

I've already been in YouTube, the only issue is that most YT bids show a 1/4 twist then it will align. This one I'm going to have to twist one whole revolution to align. The picture I have on is just barely beginning to tighten.

Yea, sucks. I had the same issue with my HK91, but the washer will crush down.

You could also shave the back of the brake so it can time correctly, or use shims. Crush washers are pretty easy though, and the brake will remain un-modified incase you ever decide to sell.

I would rather not shave anything of the brake.

Ok so it's safe to twist one whole revolution with the crush washer. I'm hoping I don't break something.

I may look for a shim as well as backup

Here's the deal and as many have pointed out.

                    You time a brake by

                    1. have the brake or the barrel machined to clock perfectly upon reaching proper torque.

                    2. use a crush washer or peal washers (shim) to make it index.

                    it's that simple.

Just checking, but are you actually crushing the crush washer down? Hand tight isn't going to do it, no matter how strong your death grip may be. You need to put it in a vise and crank on it with a wrench to get the brake to time correctly (when using a crush washer).

No, I'm not crushing the washer yet. This is the original crush washer that came with the dragon. I'm just wondering if this crush washer will survive a full revolution turn to get it to sit right. I can see 1/4 or half, but a full?

It's been my experience that crush washers can be crushed a full 360-degrees. Just wrench on your brake until it's timed right.
