    Pistol Barrels: Clockwise vs. CCW?

    Hello,

I was doing a little cleaning and noticed the after market barrels I have bought are rifled CCW vs. the stock barrels which are rifled clockwise.

Wondering why this is the case - I guess it doesn't make any difference; right?

The Navajo used to say that a dust devil that spun clock-wise was a good spirit while one that spun counter clock-wise was an evil spirit - made me think of that for some reason....

    Thanks And Regards,

Google "coriolis effect". Northern vs southern hemisphere.

Only really makes a difference in long range shooting with drift.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

The only reason is the original manufacturer use one machine over the other. Colt has always been left hand rifling Kimber as well

Thanks guys. As these are pistols I am sure; at least for me personally; this makes no difference.
