I purchased a 22-4 Thunder Ranch from a fellow Calgunner and he had put a .250" SDM gold bead front sight on it. With that sight it shoots way low when you line it up with the top of the rear notch. I contacted Dawson Precision and ordered a custom fiber optic front sight from then with a height of .180" based on using their "Sight Math" tool. However when I got it and tried to install it the sight moves around in the groove without the roll pin installed. The SDM doesn't. Dawson is saying that the sight is within spec and should work.
It seems to me that having it able to move without the pin installed would lead to having it come loose later on. Am I missing something? Should I just put lock-tite in there pin it?
