    Anodizing in central/northern CA

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get some 80% lowers and bare uppers anodized once they're completed? Places you've personally used are preferred, but any good suggestions are welcome.

Are there other good alternatives to anodizing AR parts that I'm not aware of?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! Do you have an approximate cost per piece for anodizing, by any chance?

So keep in mind that most often anodizing is a pretty thin surface plating that can scratch fairly easy if you really beat on your guns, most shops do type 2 which is usually about .0005 thick. Type 3 or hard anodize is usually about .002 thick (but can be controlled for thickness) and is much harder, but also more expensive.

More often used options are Cerakote or Duracote which offer a lot more choices in colors, and if done correctly, a lot more durable.

If I remember he charged about $25.00 for black type 3 hard annodize. I had a couple things done camo pattern and they came out great.

That's great information to know, thank you! Any recommended shops in the area that will do that?

                "uppers anodized once they're completed"

Once they are a finished rifle doesn't that complicate things?

Uppers, no. Lowers, a little bit, unless they are an 07FFL. You just need to be there while they do the work.
