What will/won't parkerizing adhere to?

I'm buying my supplies right now and I'm trying to figure out what kind of tank I need. As far as I know park will not adhere to stainless steel and chrome. Is there anything else it won't stick to? I'm looking at this tank but I have my doubts that it will work but I'm not sure:

Also if park were to stick to this tank what would be the problems associated with it?

Zink Phosphate isn't adhering to carbon metal it's more like acid etching. Carbon metal tanks will rust and be etched away using up all the phosphates as it does. Stainless doesn't have carbon in it so it isn't etched along with parts.

I figured rust would be an issue but I wasn't aware of of the acid etching principles of the zink phosphate. Would Manganese phospahte have similar properties with carbon metal tanks? $200 is a lot of money for a tank, I wonder why their "half tank" is so much cheaper?

The only thing I'm worried about using a half tank is there may be some barrels I plan to park may be bigger than 20".

I guess my other options would be to weld one up myself or head down to home depot to see if I can find something similar to a SS tank than I can fabricate a little into what I need.

get a stainless steel serving tray, the thick commercial kind, put it over an outdoor camping stove and heat the solution. then hang parts on a stainless wire.
