No experience with one, but I am confused. On all the railed frames I have ever seen, the railed section is wider to have proper rail dimensions.

This includes 2011 and 1911 frames with rails.

So, the pictures for this frame don't seem to have a difference between the rear section of the frame and the railed section... it doesn't look wider that usual frames, so I can only assume it is narrower in the rail area that it should be.

It does look like the front of an STI 2011 L/W dustcover.

I am just not used to seeing that railed section be same width as rest of frame. I wonder if the rail is in spec. As in, can you put something on it?

Because everything else I have seen seems to either have a wider section to accommodate a wide rail, or the whole frame being wider with inletting for controls like on 2011 frames.

I would like to see the width of the frame at the rail and , for example, at the tangs if there are different widths and I am just blind. Then, if it is the same width as rest of frame and in spec with all 1911 frames, I would like to see something mounted on it. Just to see if it will work.

I have no experience with rails and have never attached anything to my handguns, so I don't know if this frame would be perfectly fine. Just noticed that it was too straight in the pictures, something I have not seen before.

it measures .755 at both the tangs and the front of the rails. I don't have a lights that mounts to the rials yet so i don't know if one will fit

That is spec for 1911 frames. So the rail is the same width? Even the very bottom? Weird. Never seen that before.

Just looked up spec for picatinny and at the sharp tips of the rail the spec calls for .835 (-.005) which is why the railed sections are usually wider I assume. Interesting how these frames will accept attachments.

                Not my image...

The rail on my trp measures .755 on the tangs by the grip safety and the rail from point to point .830

Wonder why hellfire made the rail so narrow...

Exactly my point. Wonder if anything will actually attach firmly.

My (formerly pklin's) railed 2011 frame is .8XX (I dont have my readers to see) so maybe the rail is just for looks? Tactical "style"?

Hmmm seems like quite the major design flaw... especially with the dust cover/rail being .075 undersized, the slide overhang will prolly look funny as well.

i just found an old scope ring and mounted that to the rails. it does hold securely, but does have a bit of a gap as compared to the normal picatinny rail

I ordered one of these before, sorry I couldn't catch you before you ordered yours, but I sent it right back as soon as I got it. The grip angle on the one I got was not the same as all other 1911 frames I had, the measurements on certain holes are not to print, and the finish overall is just poor and would require a lot of work to make work. Maybe I got one that was rushed through production but on first sight I decided it was not worth the trouble to get into. I didn't take detailed measurements but when you get it, you'll know what I mean when I say, something ain't right...

Still waiting for a reputable supplier to come out with a good 1911 full rail 80%...

Would be a good comeback for TM. Start making full length dust cover frames, as well as dedicated 9mm frames.
