Upper to go with 80% Arms lower.

So I would like to get a few builds done before the year ends, both 223 and 308. Since 80% Arms gets a lot of attention for quality products I figured I'd go with their lowers and jig. Does anyone have an alternative to their uppers that still provides a good fit to their lowers? I've reading that this is more of an issue on the 308s but I'm interested in recommendations for both.

    Thanks!

My Aero Precision forged uppers have all been a nice, tight fit on 80% Arms' lowers. My Mega forged and billet uppers are also good to go.

My SAA and Radical Firearms uppers fit fine, no issues.

My Stag upper had a snugness issue in the 80% Arms' rear takedown pocket. The pocket's corners were radiused a little too large, meaning the lower needed to have a little router and endmill session to make the pocket's corners a little more generous to accommodate the sharper corners of the Stag upper's rear lug. It accepted an S&W MP-15 upper perfectly, and the S&W lower accepted the Stag upper perfectly. The S&W upper's rear lug was not as sharply finished as the Stag; it was radiused "rounder" like the 80% Arms rear pocket.

Whatever; a tiny bit out of all 4 corners of the lower from top to bottom fixed it. It takes both now without any play.

If you are looking for cheap decent quality complete uppers, I have built a few with palmetto state armory and one with a blackthorne products upper, both are about the cheapest vendors I have found, I'm not sure about blackthorne but spa has been in business for a very long time, I got a stainless heavy barrel upper with the bcg&ch for $319 shipped to my house, and it came in less than a week.

Thanks for the replies. I see a few good ones in the links. I'll post again when I'm a little further along on the build and let you folks know how it goes.
