Barrel Swap?

I have a RIA 1911 .38 Super....I have an opportunity to buy a RIA 9mm barrel with recoil spring, and extractor. I wanted to know if it is okay for me to just swap out barrels to have the best of both worlds? Im not sure if I need a new slide or anything....I think RIA makes a TCM that comes with an extra barrel for a .22 TCM. Thought it could be kinda like that!

Aside from fitting of the barrel to your slide and having to use the 9mm recoil spring. it should be a direct swap.
