Help finding appropriate bushing relationship for 1911

Hi, i have a commander slide with a reverse recoil spring plug (both Fusion). The full length guide rod passes through the open recoil spring plug. The barrel bushing fits the slide and barrel nicely however it doesn't envelope the guide rod well...there is a noticeable gap. I would imagine that's because its designed to entrap a standard recoil spring plug.

What options are out there...is there a different type of bushing i can order?

Here are photos of the reverse plug and of the front of the barrel and slide. Appreciate your help.

Modify the slide or the reverse plug so the reverse plug sticks forward another 0.040" or so.
Then turn the end of it down so it fits into the bushing properly.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

You need a commander FLGR recoil plug.

The front wall of most reverse plugs is quite thin. Odds are if he turned it down the spring would shoot out the front of the plug.

Measure twice, cut once always applies...

I think your problem is that you are using a reverse plug+regular barrel/ bushing combo. If im not mistaken reverse plugs are for bull barrel (bushingless) setups. I may be wrong

              That's usually the case.

The purpose of a reverse plug is indeed to function without a barrel bushing to hold the plug in place.

No amount of measuring will put enough material on a reverse plug to do what you are suggesting.

might be a great excuse to add a cone compensator....

                      That's why you measure.
When the measurements show that it's not possible, you stop and figure out another solution.

Yeah but that would mean you'd actually have to use your brain... and lord knows with the advent of the Internet why should they friggin wait to figure it out on their own when they can watch a YouTube to see just how to properly screw it up.

Well at least it's not the stupid F'n questions on the reloading board.
