    current AR pistol requirements?

    I want to build my first ar pistol i got 80% lower i need more info or point me in the right direction about engraving requirements serial number and its its required barrel size. and places i can get engraving done around Sacramento area.

    Same engraving specs as feds. do not get polymer you have to embed a 3.7 ounce stainless plate in lower permanently.' ab29180 part b has info

      There's no requirement to mark anything YET.

      It's illegal to manufacture an unsafe handgun. Since you can't put it on the roster, you need to build it in roster exempt configuration. That means 6" barrel minimum, 10.5" overall length minimum, single shot, bolt- or break-action.

        Question.. if I'm building an AR pistol, how do you show that you made it a single shot, then converted to semi?

          When is this law going in to effect for engraving and will that also affect previous build before.

            July 2018,

            you have till then to mark your weapons to the federal standard and then do nothing, or wait till after and then have to apply for a number and register the weapon. you have up until Jan 2019 to apply for a number,

            yes it includes previous builds.
