Ruger Mk II 22/45 disassembly problem

I have an old Ruger Mk II 22/45 which, after cleaning, didn't function properly, specifically, the trigger didn't function. Then I couldn't get the disassembly lever, located in the grip, to come out. I can get the lower section open a few millimeters but thats as far as it goes.

Any suggestions? Should I send it to Ruger? Or can locals (Huntington Beach, California) work this kinda problem?

You didn't reassemble it correctly. I had the same exact problem the first time I reassembled my 22/45. Not sure the proper way to fix it, but the way I solved the issue for me was to pull extra hard on the disassembly lever.

The problem is the hammer bar slips into a spring loaded pocket in the lever. When you closed the lever, that bar did not fit into the pocket and is now wedged between the lever and the frame.

Thanks for you comments. I'll try it and if it doesn't work, I'll ship it to Ruger and let them figure it out.
