Polymer 80 Spectre and AA 22LR

I tried assembling the Advantage Arms Glock 17/22 22LR conversion kit to a Polymer 80 PF940 Spectre frame. It fits, but I notice that if I pull the trigger, I can actually push the slide right off the frame. Otherwise, when it's cock, the slide is locked onto the frame.

I haven't test fired it, only fitted to the frame. Magazines seem to be a little problematic, too - I have to slam it to lock into the mag.

    Any advice?
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

Make sure your slide lock is going up. It probably (almost certainly) isn't. I had to modify the slide lock to get the AA upper on my Polymer 80.

Take some material off the back of the slide lock (at the top). You need to thin it out so it will clear the barrel lug on the AA. It is a cheap part, so no big deal as you may (likely will) need a special modded one for your AA slide.

Also, very firmly press the muzzle against a hard surface (wood counter etc) and manually raise the slide lock to the locked position. This is advice from AA even for some factory Glock frames.

Look at this cutaway pic. The slide lock fits between the recoil spring and the barrel lug. The lip on the back of the slide lock engages with the barrel lug. You can do what I did and remove some material from the rear/top (lug side) of the slide lock - basically removing the lip, thinning it out, then refiling a lip. The problem is the AA barrel lug is a little longer than a stock Glock lug, and the Poly80 frame is a little tighter in that area between the locking block and the notch for the slide lock.

I did mine a little different. I also have the AA conversion with a polymer 80.
I filed off .015" from the front of the locking block. I still have to push on the barrel and push the slide release up. The people at AA never answered me when I asked for the barrel lug dimensions so I checked it against a G17 barrel and that is where I came up with the .015".
I talked to Dave at Polymer80 and he sent me a new locking block and it had the same dimensions as the first one.
As for the magazine issue, I had to open up the frame to allow the mag release to not bind. Also I had problems with the extended mag release sticking that was solved with the standard mag release.

I always modify the cheapest part first. You could mod the barrel lug, the locking block, or the slide lock. The slide lock is $4 and easy to change when I want to switch back to regular Glock upper and an unmodified slide lock, so that it what I started filing on first.

I agree the mag release hole in the frame had to be worked a little on both of my Poly 80 frames, but on both of mine I used a factory extended release with no problems after a little filing on the frame.
