So I got around to assembling my Spectre frame as a single shot break action. I Made an adjustable guide rod which can be shortened far enough to allow the sear to catch and prime the firing pin. Then just lengthen the guide rod with a screwdriver until the slide is locked and can't move. So with the installed magazine block it's now a single shot pistol which you need to disassemble the action in order to reload. It takes about 4-5 minutes a shot. So with that done I am took the time to fix the grip design. I did not like all the ridges, the honeycomb, or the really square area where the web of the thumb goes. I used a dremel to remove material and get the shape I wanted. Now it's just continuous sanding so it looks fairly smooth. All I really have left is milling the slide and fitting a piece of metal with a serial number into the back of the grip. The slide is just bead blasted stainless steel which I would like to coat in something. Not sure if I should go for Cerakote, blueing, nickel, or blackened stainless.
Anyhow this has been pretty fun to make. I will probably be finished with this over the next couple months.
