    Tikka Upgrades

Thinking of putting some aftermarket parts on my Tikka T3 300 Win mag. I wants some opinions on whether it's worth it and why.

    - replace recoil lugs
    - replace scope rings
    - replace bottom metal
    - replace bolt shroud

Most of these item are plastic or seem like quality can be improved. I solely hunt with this gun.

    Tikka upgrades

    Hi Willidru,
I too was considering the exact same upgrades as your post and did a lot of research and I came to the conclusion not to do any of the upgrades unless necessary (but I don't think this will happen). I have a Tikka Lite in a .308 and I did add a clamp-on muzzle brake which seems to help and the rifle also came with the Talley scope rings when I bought it. With your rifle being a magnum, I'd research other 300WM owners in regards to the rifle scopes. From my very short term memory, I do recall magnum calibers and a lot of 30 calibers the scope rings were replaced due to the heavy recoil. Keep an eye on your groups to determine if replacing the recoil lugs would be necessary (also because of the recoil). At this time, other than the scope rings, I think you're GTG and just enjoy your Tikka! PS, what & where do you hunt?
