Sorry to be a pain in the @ss but how much does cerakote add to the gun? Did you fit the slide loose? Did you tape off anything? did you cerakote before the installation of sear spring pin or spray over it? I greatly appreciate the help.

I fit everything first then took it all apart to cerakote.

Light coat on the rails then heavier on everything else.

      No fitting issues.

When I built my AR's I had plans to hard anodize. So everything was machined to compensate. it takes a little bit of planning but it works.

Matrix is machining these on size so you have options. It's easier to take material off then put it back on.

And oh BTW the Sig kit... Someone here said it was mailbox to range same day... That is an understatement.

I started working on mine on a Saturday morning and finish with cerakote by that afternoon. took it to the range that week and shot a one hole group of about eight rounds till i seen how good I was shooting and then thought about what i was doing and screwed the group up.

zero break in. 100% perfect function with the first 200 round down the pipe.
How many rounds do you have down the pipe so far? I am debating on whether to cerakote my frame or I have a buddy that does type II annodzing for a living. I know the annodizing hardens the aluminum at the surface, which cerakote wouldn't do. With the aluminum frame I am trying to figure out which would last longer.

And seeing all these matching sets, it almost makes me want to order another frame and parts kit...

I have about 400 rounds through one that I cerakoted the frame on and it's holding up well. Hoping to cerakote the second one this weekend and will be doing the slide as well on that one. I used the matrix rail file to open up the frame rails and as mentioned above, opened up some of the pins and trigger hole and everything fit great after coating.

Thank you for the info. Matrix posted some packages with an unfinished parts kit that I am contemplating buying and cerakoting it all. If these are really as easy as everyone says, this could be bad for my bank account. I need to find a 226 slide now...

man, just cerakote it and see how you like it before you spend a bunch. the cerakote runs fine on these sigs. leave that roll pin in and thats it. cover the rest(threads, grips) if it makes you sleep better.

and just hone the takedown holes a little with sandpaper.
