    80% manufacturer engraving question

For my 80% lower is it OK to engrave my initials Amory. Example would be JS Armory. Or does it need to be Joe Smith Armory or J. Smith Armory.

            Real Name or recognizable abbreviation,
            Location of manufacture (city/state),
            Caliber (multi is OK),
            Serial Number,
            Model is optional.

Using anything other than your name doesn't satisfy the feds. Adding Armory ends up making it company manufactured. Two problems with that are the company doesn't exist and if it does it doesn't hold a fed mfg license. Companies can't manufacture without a license but an individual can.

Has to be your name. City name is going to suck if you live in a long named city...

Like states all cities have a recognizable abbreviation. Redding is RDG. Most cities first radio station used these abbreviations with a K in front of them west of the Mississippi and a W in front of them east of the Mississippi. Growing up ours was KRDG.

Reading the above thread and if I understand it correctly I do not need to engrave manufacture on it if I don't plan on selling the lower.

I should be able to engrave the following to identify if needed.

                      Model: what ever I decide
                      Caliber: Multi
                      serial #: sned00x

                          That is true.

The required information is only required for transfer OR to register your soon to be assault weapon.

At this time I think most people are concerned about all the new laws.

Can't register a home build as an AW anyway. This is part of the new law?
For me , there's no reason to register. I'll mark it for return if stolen, or to keep the cops from taking it for safe keeping.
A day may come when the will of man fails, but it is not this day.

                              Could you post that passage?
