    80% ar pistol lower?

I'm getting a couple lowers engraved, my question is should I have them engrave PISTOL if I'm going to use them as a AR Pistol?
    Thank you.

I engrave all of my 80 receivers...from AKMs to HKs and ARs so that I can Identify them in case of theft or uninformed LEO...
If you already have plans to engrave them....having them engraved PISTOL will make the fact that you "made them" specifically to be pistols clear and in my opinion will only help in case of uninformed/uneducated/ignorant LEO encounter.

Just remember you can always make a pistol lower into a rifle, but you can NEVER make a rifle lower into a pistol. That's all I have to say about that.

I'm not an attorney but "pistol CA compliant, multi caliber model AR1" suits me. I've had conversations with large LEO organizations specifically charged in firearms enforcement they are less educated than most Calgunners imho. LEO POV: Its far easier to confiscate a questionable item and make you play with the DOJ for months getting it back than ca;l the field sergeant or do some reading on the DOJ website. A smart man would have a nice clean printout from the DOJ explaining the self build SSE exception highlighted. A smartass might have a note at the end stating you have now been informed, willful ignorance if acted upon of you're dept/state policy along with your name and all your personal applicable identifying information will be noted to your direct CO, watch-captain and multiple firearms advocacy groups.

              Not required but highly advisable.
