    bedding question R700

I have a question for the riflesmiths:

On an HS precision stock should the receiver make full contact with the bedding block or does the bedding block act like a v type rest where the receiver is drawn down into it by torquing the screws?

Should the recoil lug be fully bedded or does full bearing on the rear surface provide for adequate function?

Thanks for any advice or opinion offered.

The HS stock is like a vee. You will see two lines on the bottom the action where the block contacts the action.

Everything being square the rear of the lug contacting the block should be fine, however this is a factory rifle and they may not be perfectly square.

If you want to bed the lug some will just bed it and be done with it, I myself I will tape the lug on the front, sides, and bottom before bedding.

If you have any questions you can shoot me an email.

Thanks, I was concerned about the two lines and whether that type of contact was normal or preferred.
