    stuck bullet button

Stupid me used blue Loktite on the bullet button. when I tried to remove the nut inside the bullet button the little ears sheared off. Has anyone ever removed the nut after this has happened? The only thing I can think of is to drill out the threaded pin from the left side till it disassembles itself and then install a new mag catch. Anyone? Rod

Does it still function as a bullet button?

You can notch a flathead screw driver to fit the bb nut. The steel will hold up much better than the aluminum wrench. If that does work you can grab the mag catch on the left side with pliers and break it off.

Yup, that's what I was thinking but easier if you can push it out a bit.

It functions fine. And I guess it keeps it legal here. But I travel and take it out when in places where we are still free. I'm a little afraid to try to break it off. I don't want to mess up my receiver. Thanks for the ideas, Rod

If you push it you'll see the mag catch on the left exit the frame a bit should be easy to grab onto and bend then spin it off.

Or like WT said just fit a flathead screwdriver in the button side.

              That's your safest bet.
You only need to drill a 5/32" hole.
There's really no concern about hurting the receiver as long as you are centered up in the middle of the post when drilling:

Randall, thank you for the pic!! That is the way I will do it! It does appear that the threaded section is pressed into the flat section so drilling in maybe 30% will allow it to punched out (gently). Rod

The threaded post has a step on the end where it meets the flat bar.
The flat bar has a hole and a countersink on the OUTSIDE face.
The post is installed in the hole and then swaged into the countersink.
All you need to do is drill about 1/2 way into the BAR with a 3/16" drill bit (obviously centered on the post) and a punch should knock the post out.

And when you get it out and install a new one, use silicon/gasket maker, instead of locktite. It'll be easier the loosen the BB screw.

Use nail polish abd it will come off with low heat or a slotted screwdriver.

I will use silicone or nail polish, but lightly. As long as I'm in Kalifornia I will leave the weapon alone as long as I can eject mags. I picked up a new catch to install when needed. Enjoy the weekend guys. Rod
