    Best Lower Parts Kit

Okay, I know "best" is subjective, but what lower parts kit do you prefer? I'm looking to upgrade my AR pistol and do not want to just buy the cheapest parts kit available. Obviously the trigger assembly is the important part here, so let me know if you think going cheap is fine with the rest of the parts and then just buying a nice trigger, but my preference would be to find a really nice complete kit.

    Thanks.

I've used LPKs from Palmetto, Aero Precision, and a couple of other no name brands I can't remember where I got them from, and the one I keep going back to is the RRA (Rock River Arms) LPKs. I tend to only use Mega and Aero Precision lowers and RRA parts are always nice, smooth and easy installations, and they function well. Triggers in LPKs leaves much to be desired, but RRA two-stage trigger LPKs are actually quite nice.

RRA gets my business, when they're in stock of course.

Rock River Arms, Inc. offers a complete line of American made, custom built AR15 style rifles.

The Colt LPK is probably the most trusted. It is hard to tell how good the many other LPKs are. One good LPK that includes a Nickel Teflon coated trigger for $99 is the new BCM LPK.

sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I've tried kits from Anderson, AR Stoner, Aero, and PSA.
The stock triggers are as bad as it can get.
I recommend buying kits without the trigger unless it comes with an upgraded trigger. They all work good. I like the PSA kit with their EPT trigger the best. I use the EPT trigger in all my builds. Its very smooth and usually on sale for $30.

I've tried dpms.. And several others but I personally like RRA.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I think I'm even more confused now.

I'll have to check each of these out tonight and figure out which one to go with.

Get this, and then the trigger of your choice.

If new to AR15- any decent LPK eg. DPMS, PSA, Anderson, will work just fine.

The are mostly all the same. Until you get a feel for your AR platform you won't be able to tell.

"in my experience" 2 stage is good if you are doing distance/precision but even then it's still no good until hours of practice to know what you would like.

For "having fun shooting my gun" just about any LPK will work.

I've tried "on sale specials" LPK's and nice higher grade LPK's and they do the same job.

The nicer ones like Gisselle and Timney are nicer. But I'm guessing if you have to ask youre new to this and their benefits won't really be felt by you.

BUT as always--------buy what you can afford. It's never a bad idea to spend good money on good tools.

I use the psa kit with the qms trigger and me grip. Much better than the standard trigger and still cheap

I used a standard Core15 lpk and it came with a surprisingly good trigger. I don't know if it is the same today but I didn't see a reason to change it.

Definitely not new to AR's, I've just never purchased a quality trigger and/or LPK for my AR'S since my first AR was a Daniel Defense many years ago and my most recent build was an AR pismost from an 80% lower that I intentionally built ad cheap as I could, just to see how it performs.

Now I am building a high-quality (and high-budget) AR pistol with an LWRC piston upper and I don't want to buy crappy parts for a nice upper.

I like Spike's Tactical enhanced lpk. It's worth the price. I've built three lowers using it.
