    PPS-43 kits

I hope this is the correct section for this since it is old. A relic for sure!

    Has anyone done these kits?
Are they legal in CA? With a bullet button?

I'm assuming I'll have to make a die & some other tooling & parts too.

The hi cap mags are a no go unless you are exempt. You could have those shipped to someone out-of-state who can block them to 10 rounds before import to CA.
As for building the kit . . . You might ask Randall at AR15Barrels if he has done them. Make sure the total length will make the CA minimum length required, add bullet button (if you can find one for it), and block 10 round mags. The stock needs to be pinned to stay over the min. length.

I have no idea where to find a semi receiver to build it on though.

You might have more response posting this in the regular semi-auto rifles section since it won't be C&R once you build it on a new made semi receiver.

got one as a SSE pistol with maglock and blocked mags in 9mm before that ride was over. They are tons of fun

The guy that helped me out has since said he'd be willing to make one CA compliant with a barrel extension, maglock, pinned stock and blocked mags.

      Here's his info:

If it's built as a carbine, and the barrel is 16", it will still be 30" long even if the stock is folded, it doesn't need to be pinned. Those receivers are long.

There's an old thread on here with DIY bullet button: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=446902

Plenty of places to get the receiver, I've used an MGS one: http://militarygunsupply.com/index.p...roducts_id=863
And I've used a stenparts one:

There's also KPProducts and TheFlatSpot, and a few more.

The most challenging part to the build is the bolt modifications and the FCG, which involves modifying the lower. There are vendors who sell drop in FCGs and modified bolts, like Kp products and a few others. Or depending on your skills and tooling you can do them yourself, overall it's a pretty simple build. You'll also need to decide on leaving it in 7.62x25 or building it in 9mm.

Have you used a KP modified bolt, any good? I have a pistol in 7.62 and now want to build a carbine in 9mm.
