    Gunsmiths a sticky?

Do we have a sticky for locating gunsmiths? It seems to be getting increasingly difficult to find good reliable gunsmiths and it would be helpful to create a sticky either by location or specialty, what are your thoughts?

There are many gunsmith registries. Gunsmiths.com is one.

but if you made it a sticky then what happens when you end up with a Gunsmith Dan or a Chazz??

I think the Admins have their hands full as it is.

Gunsmiths.com is down for maint. doesn't indicate for how long.

Not trying to make anyones job more difficult, had a recent bad experience with one of the only gunsmiths in my area and have had difficulty finding a replacement.

you need to update your user profile to include an area so we can point you in the right direction.

Just be sure not to send Kcstott a Mosin to work on, or else he'll melt it down and send you back a much more useful piece of metal block.

What are you looking to have done? I've had my share of bad gunsmith experiences with a no-name police armorer, Alan Tanaka from Gardena, and Bolsa Gunsmithing in Westminster. Update your profile then people can point you in the right direction.

A sticky would not be good. You would need a sticky for each gunsmith so people can leave feedback. Then the website might consider it advertising. A lot for mods to monitor.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I think that the sticky would get old.
It would not get updated and would not be useful because of it.
People don't really read stickys either.

Asking for a gunsmith in your area will get you current responses from people in your area.
Just make sure you ask them how current their info is because people often post about a gunsmith they used "a few years ago" who has now moved out of the area or is no longer doing good work because his eyes have given out...

Ejector......I should be wearing my glasses.

It's an EAA Arms IZH 27 Cheap O/U 12ga. fits me well and goes bang every time.

I decided to fix it myself, parts are in route.

I get down to Oakhurst on occasion, I'll look you up sometime. No offence I just prefer to deal Face to Face.

By all means, come on by.
Good luck with the fix, those cheepies can be quite challenging sometimes. As a general rule, the more expensive a double is, the better engineered it is and easier to repair.
