S&W 929 help please

Hi All,


I just recently purchased a new 929 and wanted to replace the front sight with a fiber optic one. I got a replacement from Dawson, but have not found much info on how to swap them out. I assume I have to drive the pin out, but have read that the replacement front sights need to be drilled? I'm only asking because I don't have a drill press, and never like to free-hand drill on guns.

Take it a gunsmith and have the 'smith drill and install. Know who you are dealing with before you let them do it.

The problem is finding a gunsmith locally that can do it. I wish I knew a reputable gunsmith in the area, but it's never that easy...

Yeah, know what you mean, I have run into the "hatchet killer" 'smith more than once, and paid for it. That's why I learned to do most of it myself.
