    Anodizing questions?

So I finished machining some parts out of aluminium and I want them to match my Stag lower and upper exactly. So I have a few questions.

    1. Does anyone know the name of the color that Stag uses?
    2. I am pretty sure it is type 3 hard anodizing is this correct?
    3. Does anyone know of someone in San Diego that can anodize these parts for me?

    Thanks,

    Sure.
    1. Hard Black
    2. Type 3 hard
    3. Southern Cal Plating does hard black and hard natural. I've seen SPike's there, made by Kaiser. They do my anodizing.

How the metal is prepped makes A LOT of difference in how it looks after ano. If you are trying to match finish, it might not be perfect.

What are you trying to do?

    all the best,

There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

If I wanted it to match EXACTLY, I'd have them blast the lower and the parts and do the exact same prep work to them all. The lower might come out a couple shades away from it's original finish, but all the parts will match.

That or just Durakote/Molyresin the entier thing when you're done.

Thanks for the help. I will call them today and see what the cost of everything will be.
