Refilling an Engraving

So i have a lower receiver for a AR15 that i had custom engraved, but i didn't like the outcome. The picture i chose was too detailed and with the small area it was engraved in. So i want to get rid of it but i don't know how too.

I'm mostly concern with the filler matching the rest of the receiver, or would i need to sand blast the whole receiver and re anodize it? I'm also trying to budget this little mistake.

Would this be something easy to fix? Is it possible I can do this myself?

Probably the easiest "budget" way to do it is to just buy another lower.

By the time you buy filler, fill it, sand it, color-fill, etc (assuming refilling will be satisfactory), you'll be out many hours + the cost of the filler/paint.

Keep the lower, turn it into a pistol lower or a J-i-case lower and start from scratch.

you should use high watt laser for that detail and it will come out perfect.

You never want to "re-anodize".

Anodize grows like mold on bread. Part in the metal and part on top. So to "strip" it you must remove metal, your holes and such will never be the same and so you will be out of spec.

buy a large coin or medal , and put a pin on it, and jb weld it over your engraving



btw i think your engraving looks good, dont see what the problem is
