That sucks. It is hard to tell from your pic, but something looks a bit off on the bolt catch slot and mount. Could just be the weird light or angle the photo was taken.

Look near the buffer tube ring. It wont hurt function, but I'd be pissed and I would definitely call and have it sent back.
If you need help with any stragglers, call a friend, because it's likely that they have a gun. America in particular have done exceptionally well taking care of the problem, as there are 1.12 guns for every 1 American citizen. So throw a rock, you'll probably hit a gun, pick up that gun, then shoot a zombie.

I'd run with it, that minor little nick is no issue in my eyes.

Edit: If shipping is paid both ways then i'd consider returning it.

I'd run it. I don't understand the "pissed" attitude. Yeah it missed QC or got knocked about after QC. It was $40, it won't affect function and you'll never see it.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

              I'd send it back.
Or why not just sell it to one of these guys who want YOU to run it?
              Let them run it instead.

I got some from Tactical Machine that has grind marks at the takedown pins, looked like they ground out a chip. Some have small dings too.

It wont affect function. It is something to mention to Brownells, maybe get a future 20% discount. But hold on to it, not worth the hassle of a return.

I would call Brownell and talk to a CS rep. Have them exchange it, sure, it'll be on backorder but at least it's the sale price you paid.

Since it probably won't hamper function, I'd just keep it.

But I do understand the displeasure. When you buy a product, you expect it to be without defects. Yeah, defects are a part of the manufacturing process, but you'd think that clearly visible ones wouldn't make it through QC.

I honestly cannot tell if this is a joke or not. OP that mark will have no bearing on function and it wont even be visible. but I am of the "good enough" tribe, especially on a $40 lower. if it detracts from function (which it doesn't) it would be a different story in my opinion.
