Trying to flip my mag release on my Glock 43 and for the life of me I cannot grab that pin that needs to be removed to get the release out. I've already bought 2 different needle nose pliers for this task and neither are able to get a grip on it. What tool will work for this?

That won't work unfortunately. It's not a pin so much as a skinny bar that needs to be grabbed and pulled. It's not something that can be punched.Comment

I use a pick, I have a set of these from Harbor Freight for $2. I rounded off all the tips so none are sharp. The hooked one is perfect. Just round off the tips so you don't scratch up the polymer.
All you do is depress the mag catch all the way, get the pick around and behind the spring wire and hold it, then push the mag release back into the normal position from the other side with your thumb, and the spring wire should pop right out of the slot, easy peasy.
