    1911 Help Sacramento/Davis Area?

I have a new Colt Combat Commander that I have stripped to lube before firing. Major trouble getting it back together. Problems go well beyond the usual slide stop problem to a point that the gun is obviously reassembled incorrectly. I give up and doubt that I am up to the task of treating this 1911 with the respect it deserves. At 67 with arthritis in both hands and just coming off hand surgery this was not the best choice for a gun. Anyway, any suggestions on where I can take this to get it put together correctly? At that point, I plan to sell.

They are not that difficult once you are familiar with them. I know you said you are having hand issues and that may hinder some of the processes. I wish I was closer so as to assist. Good luck with it, it is a great gun that has been battle proven.

I own a couple 1911s and I am very familiar with how they function and assemble. If you can't find someone for a reasonable cost to assist you I would be glad to look at it and reassemble it for nothing. I'm in woodland. To be clear I am not a gunsmith just a guy willing to lend a hand. Good luck with it either way.

Thanks very much for your kind offer. Charley at CS Sports helped me with this. But I think the 1911 is a little more than I can handle with weakened hands so I have it up for sale.

Wish I had seen this earlier, I live between Fairfield and Vacaville and I’m sure I could put it together for you and give you some light reloads to try as well.
