    22Mag AR upper

So my buddy loves his 22mag and has a few of them, and I am actually about to do a 10/22 style 22WMR setup, but I have always wondered why there was no 22mag AR upper. I know Nordic was working on a setup but no idea why they stopped development.
So I have been kicking around the idea of making one. My thoughts are to re-chamber a 22LR AR barrel to 22WMR, and modify a 22LR bolt to work with heavier springs and maybe some heavy metal added to increase the weight and "tune" the blowback. Throw all the bits in a standard upper with usuall rails etc. and it should be pretty much good to go.
Mags obviously would be an issue, but I think I could have some 3-d printed that would work.

    Thoughts?

    Ray-vin.com has complete 22wmr uppers.
Black dog machine makes the mags.
Other methods would be to convert an M261 .22 kit, which IIRC I read about years ago.
Or maybe use bolt, mags, parts from whichever company makes the .17 upper.
If you are starting from scratch, it would be quite a project

22 magnums are difficult to get to run well in blowback, yet lack the gas supply to use gas operation to cycle a locked-breech system.
