Stuck 1911 barrel link

I have recently bought a new Wilson combat barrel link and pin and have been trying to remove the old from the barrel. I started by buying a 1911 block to help me...I been hitting it with a punch and it hasn't moved at all. Need advice or if someone knows a good cheap gunsmith around Richmond CA I would appreciate it.

It won't work trying to drive it out against a solid surface, try hitting it from the other side..

Tried hitting the pin from one side and another, been hitting it so much that the punch is showing big signs of wear. Pin doesn't budge at all...even tried to warm it up with the a lighter to see if that would help and nothing. I pretty much given up on taking it out on my own. Started to look for a gunsmith in my area, but thats hard too.

Had the same problem. Used my vice like a press to push it out. It was just wide enough for a punch on one side and a nut on the other to support the barrel legs, but have a hole for the pin. Line it all up and start cranking. Pushed the pin right out.

It worked! Thanks! Did it in a few minutes..... After failing all day and night.

It's best to hit the pin on a block on a hard surface with no rubber mat under so you don't lose energy transfer.
