    **H&K USP 45

Hello. Is it possible to remove the safety from a H&K USP 45? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there is a gunsmith in the Los Angeles area that could do this would be a great help too.
    Thank you

you didn't mention why. and you failed to mention if you want it reinstalled. If you want the safety removed all together good luck. No Gunsmith with a license to loose will do that.

I sent my USP to HK. They converted it to DA/SA with no safety, only decocker. It cost $25.00.

          Pffft, what?

You know modifying a gun is legal right?
The only thing you can't do is modify a gun into a machine gun or "assault weapon".

I've seen several 1911s with the grip safety deleted, Berettas converted to da only and so forth.

          I'd say I'm misinformed then.

See the OP said "remove the safety"

He failed to mention that he wanted the FCG reconfigured as part of the different trigger packs

Now your infantile remark about modifying firearms is a joke.
Yes it's perfectly legal to do so. But in the context of what the op asked for you would be hard pressed to find a licensed gunsmith willing to disable a safety. It sets you up for major litigation.

You make it seem in my opinion like the op is trying to make some thing that he shouldn't.

Yes it maybe difficult to delete a manual safety, but doing so could not affect a licenses smith.
Even if a event like a shooting was used with modified firearm I find it hard to believe they would prosecute the gunsmith.
Again In my interpetarion instead of over complicating with a statement you could have asked the op to elaborate , again to me it seemed like you were insinuating the op wanted to ask a linecenesed gunsmith to do somthin that shouldnt.

If you think I w as trying to insult you then again, pfft.
              A bit insecure?

I did ask why. Read the first sentence in my first post.

Here's the deal and this may be just me. But in this litigation prone state we live in, I would not remove a safety unless there was a factory option that allowed for it. i.e. In your example of the 92F or the operational options of the USP.

People need to be more clear about exactly what they are asked by for and this would have never happened.
